Is it possible to make a translator program (From Japanese to English) that run in the background that can translate Japanese game text to English game text "on the fly" while playing Japanese games?

This would be an absolute Dream come true!

Then we could play all those RPG's and "somewhat" understand what the hell is going on and what to do.

Anyone?

basically. no. I mean. in theory it might be possible with years of work (literally) but um.... no? I can imagine a program to translate a binary though (like ips patches).

THeoretically possible, but not without a fairly significant performance (FPS) drop. That and it'd just be a pain in the ass to do.

There aren't even good japanese translators for PC or any other platform so... forget about this.
