As we've had some difficulty regarding certain topics in the past few weeks, this is to restate the rules....

1) All suggestions for port must link to source code. If you are uncertain of the source being available or not, you may post, but do not take it personally if the topic is closed / locked / redirected / etc. Do NOT ask for ports of commercial programs unless a full source code release has occurred.

2) Please search for prior suggestions of ports before posting. The search function is available at the top of the page and is quite useful. Please read any topics found to see if your question has been answered.

3) Please do not dig up old topics (say over 3 months old). If the old topic does not answer your question, please post a new one, but provide a notification like "I know that this topic was discussed previously, but X new devlopment has happened that I think may make this more possible. Does this change anything that was mentioned previously?". Also realize that rule #1 may come into effect.

4) This forum is *HIGHLY* volatile. Flaming tends to erupt at the drop of the hat, arguments, etc. This is prevented mostly by the watchful eyes of the moderators, megamods, and occasionally the admins. If in their opinion ANY topic breaks the rules or has the potential to dwell into a flame war, they have full right to close / delete the topic. A reason will be provided as appropriate. Repeatedly requesting / reopening topics is not a good idea.

5) Things not to ask for:

-Nintendo 64 Emulator (look at #2 if you want to know why)
Ports of commercial games (go read the Porting FAQ sticky if you want to know why)

-Any form of Word Processor, it's not useful in the end, it's a dull project, and we're tired of hearing about it.

-WindowsCE 3.0 or a derivative therof

6) Have fun. We are more than willing to look at porting requests, deem feasability, etc. But please realize you are making a request / suggestion to a *very* limited resource in the DC Scene. The Coders. If a coder gives a reason about why it's not possible / likely, you have two options - a) say ok, and forget about it, or b) go research it on your own, come up with the example coding, etc, and come back and say "I've successfully ported X".

7) No matter what... be polite... to paraphrase a very intelligent Admin, "Ignorance is easily forgiven... a bad attitude is not."

Things not to ask for:

1. Mugen port
2. Any port equal to or great than the Dreamcast
3. Anything that does not have source code for it.
4. Is an N64 Emulator out? No, there isn't.
5. Anything written with a significant amount of non-SH4 assembly. (aka Gens or ZSNES)

Things to consider before asking:

1. Is there a source code available?
2. If it is an emu port, how fast does it run on a computer?
3. Is it the code writien in C/C++?
