I think this is the first custom cover of the high definition formats, right?
Well, this movie needs one badly. The American cover art for Serenity is a widely-agreed joke that makes it look like a cheap space porno.
Here's a JPEG preview of my version:

Comments and criticism very welcome!

The only thing that really bothers me is the lens flare on her ax-thingy. That line that cuts right down her body is so distracting that it almost looks like a mistake. In fact, all four of those lines are really pointless, so it would benefit the cover to just get rid of them altogether.
Also, on the back, the font you used at the top isn't really that great. It has some serious kerning issues. Actually, I take that back, it isn't really the font, but the fact that you have it justified to make a nice neat block, and that is destroying the spacing. It's not that bad, but without a serif font to help lessen the impact, it really starts to stand out. I'd say just get rid of the justification.

Agree totally about the front, Melancholy. I guess I could have a go at recolouring the axe and painting out that obnoxious + shaped light thing.
I'll also change the text and see how that looks. Thanks a lot!

Well, as you can see, I fixx0red the text justification - looks a lot better now (thanks Melancholy).
The + mark coming out of that damn lens flare is much, much harder to get rid of though.

That is nuts that some huge production firm would add such a blatant flaw to their promotional material. Anyone can look at that and instantly see it as a distraction. At any rate, I'll bet I could remove it if you want me to. Just post the original picture, and I'll get rid of it for you, or at least to the hairline where it wouldn't be so annoying anymore.

Thanks for the offer Melancholy, but luckily there was another wallpaper available that had the + mark in a different place so I managed to piece the two together. Preview image in the original post updated

Wow. That front cover is now so ridiculously better that I cannot even fathom why anyone would have added that lens flare in the first place. Seriously, removing that stupid lens flare improved the entire package immensely.

Nice article! Congratulations, Lyris
I also like your cover. I actually saw the movie, of course not before having seen the few episodes that was supposed to be the series: Pretty good! Summer Glau really impressed me! What a beautiful and talented woman.

Insane homebrew collector.
