GameShark/ActionReplay CDX Code Database

Post by bucanero »

So... yesterday I was messing around with some html files I had with tons of GameShark codes, and I decided to build a Dreamcast cheat code database.

Right now there's 3500+ GameShark/ActionReplay CDX cheat codes for 254 dreamcast games, but I'll keep adding more games and codes I've around. :)
Visit the Cheat Code Database here:

http://www.bucanero.com.ar/codes.php

I hope this page is useful for the Dreamcast community! :D

I wonder if it would be possible to create a homebrew version of the Action Replay or Gameshark using Gamesharks own codes...

First of all, GameShark codes would need to be decrypted to plain memory addresses. IIRC there's a gameshark code decrypter available. (Edit: I've found it here, with source code: http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_utils_misc.shtml )

The next step would be to code a homebrew memory patcher that could load memory addresses/values, apply them and then load the game.

I don't have such a deep knowledge of Dreamcast low level functions and KallistiOS to know if such thing is possible to do, but I guess it could be done.
