So, I'm getting a DreamKara (the Karaoke thingy for the DC), and I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything fun I can still do with it (other than trying to reverse engineer it, I plan to do that, but not right now).

BTW, here's a few pictures:

I have it since 3 years and still I don't get how to get it to work.

If you have any clue how to, please mail me! :)

When it gets here, I'll surely post some more pictures. (It still has to ship from Japan....) Those pictures are just some that the guy who sold it to me sent me.

After Christmas that'll be the only thing keeping me from my complete DC peripheral collection. *evil grin*

Nah, I bet there's some things you still won't have. Like maybe a HIT-0300 Lan Adapter? Those aren't too common....

That's what I was thinking... I guess that's what you get when you pay $50 for shipping on something.

For $50, maybe it came with a nice bottle of champagne?

Shipping from Japan sucks..... Especially when it costs more than the item itself.

Yeah well, them Asians know how to OVERCHARGE on shipping. I've had several things shipping from Japan, and they never went over $15.

EMS costs a lot of money. Plain and simple. (that's what he shipped it with)

And now, (drumroll please) its time for pictures. Please excuse the blurriness of some of them, I really suck at taking pictures, and the camera's pretty old.

Here's a generic one of the box, closed still.
Image

This is the side label on the box, all kinds of writing on this one...
Image

Open the box, and here's what I'm greeted with... a bag of literature.
Image

Here we see the disc that comes with it, along with the unit itself under the cardboard.
Image

Literature and disc sitting out.
Image

The unit, and wiring, still in the box.
Image

The microphone, a wire (goes from AV out on the DC to AV In on the the dreamkara), and the disc.
Image

The microphone, all by its lonesome.
Image

A closeup of the microphone, showing the word Dreamcast on it.
Image

Top of the unit, itself.
Image

The front (with knobs and mic ports)
Image

The right hand side, showing the expansion connector (to put your DC modem in, I presume)
Image

And, the left hand side, showing the connection to the DC
Image

The back of the unit, showing the power plug, AV Out and AV In, and a wire to connect to the DC's power jack.
Image

The bottom of the unit, showing the label.
Image

And a picture, with everything together.
Image

And last, but not least, a closeup of the label, showing US Patent numbers?!
Image

Enjoy.

Patents to keep someone from stealing the unit designs and selling a clone in the US. Bluey's camera takes pictures like an amateur porn filmer guy. Freeze, is the issue getting the media to boot or deciphering the Japanese?

bit of leg work will do you a good... :)
I was looking for this for some time as I wasn't prepared to spend a lot on it since its limited usage outside Japan... got lucky and bought dead stock from some indi shop for 1000 yen after some haggling and brought with it me as luggage on my busines trip... :p
