Sega Rally 2 DC VS Sega Rally 1 Saturn

Post by reaper2k2 » Wed Jan 15, 2003 8:39 am

Well seeing as i loved it on the saturn i thought i buy it for the dreamcast cost me $ 20 dc just today i was looking forward' to blasting around the tracks like on the saturn and the nice controls it had ..

what i got was a game to me no were near as good as the saturn version it plays better i dont even think ill play it again the DC version just put it on the dusty shelf of doom

i even think the grafix were nicer on the saturn version which is kinda strange ....

any one else agree sega rally ruled on the saturn pitty my saturn has no sound or i pull it and and play it

listen to me if you have not bought sega rally 2 for dreamcast dont

you be better off with a saturn and sega rally as there much better then this game i just bought its piss pore shadow of its saturn version which for the most part was arcade perfect .....

THE DC version total suxs

THIS the saturn version i might add this screen shot is not the best it looks sharp and clear on a saturn and no blur

The first available levels of SR2 sucked a bit. Later in the game it gets interesting. If you play the 10 year championship it starts to get fun around the 4th ~ 5th year I think.....

Graphics are ok. Playing with a VGA-Box boost everything a bit. Still it's no real gem. I wouldn't spend 20 bucks on it.

The Saturn version was too blocky (pixelated) to enjoy, heh.

I'm so used to PSX style pixleation I guess, the Saturn's 3D is nothing but a pixleated mess.

What kind of cable?

I have mine hooked up a 30" JVC using RCA A/V cables (My TV also supports Component Video, and S-Video). The 30" TV may be the problem too, because if I hooked it up to a Commodore monitor it'll look hella good (pixles are compressed?). :)

Of course you don't think it's blocky, you think the C64 is at the very pinnacle of gaming bliss :) .

I'm not a graphics whore neither, it's just driving under pixelation = not being able to see ahead of you. :?

However I just played 3 levels of Sega Rally for Saturn, pretty impressive. I then hooked it up to my Commodore compatible monitor, and tad-da it looked a lot better. Too bad my Amiga 1200 with a Blizzard 1260 50Mhz CPU accelerator card is hooked up to that monitor. ;)

I have Sega Rally 2... I couldn't get into it. I was really frustrated with the turning because the cars didn't handle like the cars on the track.

yeah i play every thing on my commodore montor im glad you see what i mean now !

dont know the game on saturn just has that one my go factor sega rally 2 on DC lacks all so the saturn control is miles better then the dreamcast one

dam it lol the kron buy a commodore montor hook it up smooths mostly any game system out amiga montors are great for psx to make it look even better

but the saturn game is miles a head of the dreamcast version the saturn one can get your hart going the dreamcast one is boring and fustrating

i wasted $20 on it thinking it have to be as good as the saturn game just better grafix i was wrong wrong wrong .....

I love Sega rally 1, but sega rally 2 does offer a lot more, I just wish they would have put the original tracks on sega rally 2 without changing them. You can hardly reckonize the desert sage on sega rally 2 with all the background changes.

Beyond the technical brilliance, it excels in terms of graphical design. That is what makes Sega Rally on the Saturn look better than it really does.
