With April Fools well and truly over world wide I was wondering what people's favourite fools were this year.

Here are my favs:

Virgin Blue Airlines
Posted an ad in several papers offering a "No Chair Fare" where you could get half price domestic flights Australia wide by electing to stand in the isle. If the flight was for longer than 2 hours then they would give you a free calf massage.

Despite being an obvious prank they received over 1000 enquiries regarding the "special offer".

Westjet
Canada's Westjet advertised that customers could pay $12 extra and sleep in the overhead baggage compartments, with complementary pillow and blankets.

Pope to hold special mass for gays
Sydney's 2UE, the radio station that I work at aired a story saying that when the Pope visits Sydney that he'd hold a special exclusive mass for gay men and lesbians in an attempt to try and heal relations with the homosexual community.

The Catholic Church was also to enter a float in next year's Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi-Gras.

Google Launches G'day Search
A new search that uses temporal algorithms to search news, sports results and pages from 24 hours in the future was launched by Google.

BBC's flying penguins
The BBC aired a preview of a documentary about some newly discovered flying penguins that migrate from Antarctica to South America for the Winter.

Has to be the worst where one of the news anchors is told to leave, and then is publicly fired over the air with Ryan Seacrest.
