Anyone else having problems with tinypic/photobucket?

As the title states, i've searched the 'net and found nothing, but photobucket and tinypic.com are both not loading on my internet connection. other then that, i'm not having any problems.

Am i the only one. BTW i'm on time warner/roadrunner and on a linksys g w/ speedbooster router.

ok, it's apparently not my internet connection, or a router setting- because the sites work fine on my ps3, but not on any of my computers (2 desktop 1 laptop) in firefox or ie, vista or xp.

Any other suggestions? I'm using windows one care av/as/fw, but i've even tried to disable them and the pages still wouldnt load.

Are you using Firefox with AdBlock?

if by adblock you mean the included popup blocker, then yes- if 'adblock' is a user installed ad on, then no.

and it's not like the pages load and i see a white page, it says "page cannot be found/displayed" and to try again.

just figured it out.

The one difference between all my pc's and the ps3 is...

The pc's have static ip's set, the ps3 has dhcp enabled. When i enabled dhcp on my desktop- the sites now load fine.

But, i would much rather have my computers on a static ip basis, does anyone know which setting might have caused the problem:

My network set up this way:

                                          -> Downstairs
                                          -> 8 port Switch -> My Desktop
                                                                          -> My laptop
                                                                          -> Xbox 360
                                                                          -> Xbox
                                                                          -> PS3
                                                                          -> PS2

On the computers, i have them set up:

192.168.1.xx
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1 (default gateway)

But, i set the dns:
192.168.1.1

do you think setting the dns might have caused the issue, i've gotta leave for a few but i'm gonna try a few different things.

Just for shits and giggles, change your DNS server to 4.2.2.1 (Verizon owned) but continue to use your manual network config and see what happens. I use that DNS because Comcast's is slow and goes down all the time.

^^Changing it to that with the static ip does work, i'll post back in a few days if it stays working.

Hey Bizzle, i'm not a network guru, but how/why does setting the dns server to one outside your isp work/benefit the end user? This is the first time i've heard of doing that.

Well it doesn't unless your ISP's DNS server sucks.

well, i've noticed lately with time warner that the connections seems to reset itself between once every 10 min to once ever few hours, but since i changed it i havent had a single problem. Just curious...

wait, so after a quick google search, when you try and connect to a website, my case tinypic.com, it goes to the dns server, which then gives the exact ip/location to go to get the page. if the dns server is down/doesnt have that info for some reason i get the connection time out issue. But when i set it to go to a known, good, stable dns server, it goes no problem. And if i knew tinypics/photobuckets ip address, i could have gotten to those sites regardless of the rr's dns server sucking?
