I need to know if this is a good buy for a laptop?

it's on sale for $799.99 and the regular price is $1000 dollars.

I don't know much about laptops at all and I was wondering if this laptop is good and if it's worth buying?.

Off hand I don't know how that compares to the cheap after rebate deals offered by bestbuy/circuit city/etc. But I know I see laptops with similar speeds and memory for around $500, but you usually gotta deal with about 3 rebates and pay up front close to $1000. I think most of them are celeron (or whatever the new name for celeron's are). I don't keep up with stats like I used to.

Is it a deal, well it is 200$ less then the normal price. Is it a deal that i would jump on, no. just because that is a normal sale price.

I would keep an eye out n bestbuy's ad tomorrow. We got a LOT of toshiba/gateway notebooks in for the ad on sunday. but i have no idea what they are. (we also got the new qosmio notebooks!)

I'll look into the sale of the laptops some more and hopefully I'll come across a really good deal on one.
