A sequel was planned actually, but didnt happen do to lack of popularity. Another fun fact about that movie is the studio wanted Tom Hanks to be Mario, but went with Bob Hoskins who was cheaper. Also Bob Hoskins didnt know that the movie was based on a game until his son asked him what he was working on and the kid showed him his copy of super mario bros.

I don't mind the extra '. The extra 0 my plumber adds to the end of the bill is far more annoying.
