Can't blame a entire country for being stupid on electing somebody. NEarly half of America did not elect him both in 2000 and 2004. Actually in 2000 Gore had more of the popular votes meaning technically over half of the country did not want Bush.

Of the eligible votes in the US as of 2005 less than 30% actually voted for him. The figure is more like 25-27%.
