Upgraded Graphite Apple Power Mac G4 NOT FOR SALE

Post by bizzle » Fri Feb 02, 2007 6:54 pm

NOT FOR SALE ANYMORE. My girlfriend won't let me sell it until I have the new one in our hands..

I have an upgraded Graphite Apple Power Mac G4 Gigabit for sale in very nice condition. A few shuffs on the sides but could probably be buffed out.

Upgraded with Sony SuperDrive (real Apple supplied Super Drive), flashed from the OEM Sony Apple uses to the retail version for +R/+RW support. Burns -R/-RW and +R/+RW at 4x, no dual layer support.

Pictures of Drive Specs

This was previously a Dual 500 MHz with a DVD-RAM, 40GB HDD and 256MB memory, Zip Drive and Rage 128 AGP video card.

The system now has;
1.5 GHz FastMac CPU upgrade
1.25GB HDD
160 GB Seagate 7200 RPM 8MB cache HDD (only 128GB accessible without third party driver or PCI IDE controller)
80GB Western Digital 7200 RPM 8MB cache HDD
Original 40GB HDD.
PC 9800 Pro 128MB HDD flashed to Mac and perfectly supported under Core Video
1 Firewire 400 port

OSX 10.4.8 Tiger installed, but no media is included.

The inside of the case has been slightly modded to accomidate the third HDD. The Zip Drive has been removed and the HDD in it's place, but a little bit of metal removal was needed to make everything be accessible. The front Zip Drive face plate was left in place, you can't even tell it was changed without really looking at the Zip Drive. I can take a picture if requested.

I have plenty of heatware and ebay references and have traded with several people here.

Non CC and CC PayPal, PayPal echeck (must clear first), accepted as well as Money Orders or Personal Checks (must clear first).

Asking $330 shipped in the continental US. No International shipping (except for Nigeria). I was told I could get more for this, but I'm willing to let it go at this price.

I just got this and decided to upgrade to a new MacBook, so this is going. Perfect for a first Mac on a budget with more power than a Mini G4.

If it fails to sell here, throw it up on Macrumors.com's marketplace. I'm sure you'd find a willing buyer there.

Best of luck and congrats on the MacBook :)

I didn't get it yet :(

Unfortunatly, I can't sell it there because I don't have at least 100 posts. So after here, it's going on ebay.

It goes on ebay tomorrow (so it can end on Sunday), so not very much time unless you want to bid. Let me know right away if you're interested.

I don't know much about the MAC processors, but does this have the ability to support HD resolution videos (full range up to 1080p)?

Not sure, I don't have any content to try. If you could link to something I could try it. I know it plays the HD Apple commercials just fine.

It doesn't do 1080p but it does do 720p. I think only the new intel mac can do 1080p
