Tenacious D's "Pick of Destiny"
I saw this movie last night with a group of friends, and oh my god. I think this is my new favorite movie ever.
We got to the theatre, and a group of about 10 people told us not to waste our money on the movie, and that it sucked. It didn't get too many good reviews online either, but I laughed almost twice as hard as Borat.
There were three groups of people in the theatre watching the movie. Not a single person in the other two laughed at all, but my group of friends was rolling around on the ground laughing borderline pissing our pants.
I think you just have to be semi knowledgeable in rock, like Jack Black, and love extremely dirty humor. Surely some other people loved this movie as much as I did?
The whole damn thing was so clever and funny, and I know it had a lot of hype, but I say that it more than lived up to it. Did anybody else love this movie, or did you all hate it?

Pick of Destiny is definitely a different brand of comedy from Borat. They're nothing alike.

I finally got a chance to see it today since the local theater doesn't get anything halfway racy unless it proves to be insanely popular.
It was amazing
ly bad.
Just kidding. It fucking rocked my fucking socks off. My favorite bit was the beginning with young Jables, Meatloaf, and Dio.

You scared the hell out of me there. It seems you appreciate it as well. It appears that the less rock oriented folk are the ones that seem to not like it. Pardon my steriotypes, but everyone that I've talked to that hated it were either "emos" or "gangstas."
I effing loved the Tenacious D Vs. Satan duel at the end. My god, that movie was epic.

Jack Black is annoying in 99% of the movies he is in. Tenacious D's album is quite good, but the soundtrack to this movie was very disappointing. I'd still love to see this movie, it looks to be quite good.Hawke wrote:I don't like JB that much, but I love Tenacious DRMD wrote:I thought it sucked but love Jack Black..... I just hate tenacious d
I can't wait to see this movie. I'm going to see it Saturday

I went and saw the concert last night. It was pretty fucking awesome. These guys know what rock is. I wasn't really planning on going to the show but just went on a whim and had a great time. They did a cover of Pinball Wizard at the end of the show that rocked.
Guess I should see the movie now.
