New LCD Monitor

Post by S. Thompson » Sun Nov 12, 2006 3:48 pm

So my girlfriend just scored me a free Etronix LCD monitor from her ex-roommate. It's pretty sweet, but Windows XP sees it as a plug and play monitor and the resolution will only go to 1024x768. On my old monitor I was running 1280x1024 and that's what I'd like to run again, but I'm not sure where to find drivers...

Any ideas?

Are you sure its native resolution is over 1024x768?

99% of monitors do not have drivers. Mine does but I don't recall what Dell has them do, probably color correction. More than likely the max Windows is letting you do is what it will do. Check google for a spec sheet.

Yea... typically Windows is pretty damn good with using monitors to their fullest potential.

If its a 15" panel, then its more than likely capped at 1024x768.
