What I would like my room layout to be. What do you think?

Ok, well I am getting a room in my basement and I am going to be redoing it. new carpet, but the walls are mostly going to to be the same. There Wood with white halfway up the cieling.

Here is the room, it is 8.5ft. Width, and 7.5ft. Long. I am going to be keeping the dresser but thats about it.

Here is what I hope it will be, if I have room at least.

Left side-Fouton/Couch, I hate sleeping on beds.

Middle top-19"widescreen monitor I plan on getting, near my computer and I will be having my 360 to the Monitor. Maybe get a capture cards so I can just rotate the monitor over and be able to lay down and watch tv while I sleep.

Right black thing is a door, and right below that is the dresser.
There is also a door on the bottem of it, its about 4' or so and you can kinda see it from the first picture.

Is there any reccomendations on what kind of carpet I should get? Any good desk/chair reccomendations? or maybe the monitor? Let me know what you think, thanks.

hrm. i might post something similar to this at some point, as next time I go home my room will be moved too (I get the whole top floor of my house =) ) and I havn't been able to decide how I would want to arrange things, although i've gotten some fairly good reccomendations from friends.

anyways, capture cards are great ideas for multi-using a monitor. instead of having a tv and monitor.

Your room's ceiling is probably close in length to the dimensions you gave for the width and depth. Just forget it.

The best way to achieve that is by blocking the door with the futon and falling asleep with a few candles on some old dried up newpaper on the carpet.
