Problem with Enhanced CDs/CD Extras

Post by Luriden »

Whenever I have a music CD with data content on it as well, such as an Enhanced CD or a CD Extra, I can never access the data. No matter what drive I put the CD in, if I choose to explore the files on the CD, I only see the .cda files. The computer only sees it as a music CD. However, if I open the disc up in ISO Buster, it sees the files there. I have to extract them to my computer to use them. Also, when I open a CD ripping program such as CDex or Exact Audio Copy, it sees it has a data track. Has anyone ever experienced a problem like this and know the fix? I came up with nothing with a Google search.

can't you extract the audio tracks using isobuster as well? you save them as wav's then use CDex to convert to mp3.

I don't have any problem with the audio. I'm trying to find a way for Windows to read the data files on CDs with both music and data.

Maybe enable Autorun on the drive?

Or try right-clicking the drive and choosing "Explore"?

Autorun is enabled already, and like I said, using Explore just gives me .cda files.

if you have nero installed there's a way you can switch sessions on the disc if i recall correctly- so audio to data and vice versa.
