Check the full keynote transcript here.
Lines join in faint discord and the Stormwatch brews

N-Philes wrote:Virtual Console To Support Hudson's CD-ROM2

And perhaps Super CD and Arcade CD. I wonder how many of you have any clue what I just said...

Hudson has announced that the Revolution's Virtual Console will not only support TurboGrafx/PC-Engine cartridge games, but also it's first CD revision, the CD-ROM2. Their press release made mention that over 670 games were released on the platform, with 122 of them being published by Hudson themselves.

It is unclear if the later formats, Super CD and Arcade CD will be supported. Super CD was the format which saw some of the systems more classic titles (such as Dracula X), so lets hope they are. In any case, the fact that this CD-based system will be supported gives hope to those wishing to see SEGA's CD-based systems appear on the Virtual Console as well.

If Nintendo adds disc support to the virtual console, they could effectively add support for just about every single Sega console. Could you imagine, one system potentially playing your entire Sega and Nintendo library? It would be enough to make even the biggest Nintendo hater take a look at this system. A partnership of Sega and Nindendo could cut into both Sony and Microsoft's sales. A lot.

yeah, same here; it'll be the first thing i've ever pre-ordered.

unless at E3 they say it'll cost 299...then i'll hold off a bit. but thats not going to happen.
