Hardest...Game...*Ever*

Just curious...what do you consider the hardest video game ever made?

Please restrict your answers to "legitimately" difficult games, not ones that are too hard because of poor controls, programming glitches, boredom factor, etc.

Oh--and my nominee is Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, for SNES.

Oh man, I got so frustrated with Super Ghosts and Ghouls, I gave up on the first level!

I've always thought some of the MegaMan games were practically impossible. I'm not sure which one I'd say is the most difficult though.

I always thought BASS was hard, but I was young when I played it so I might think differently if I played it again.

albert oddesey for saturn... i spent many hour in the final castle and never found a way through it... i swear working designs screwed up some copies with a loop at the end

That one version of Impossible Mission that was bugged so the final puzzle was impossible.

And Desert Bus is pretty hard.

ninja gaiden, XBOX, i havent even passed the first boss yet

its a cool game, but i just dont feel like playing it when its that hard

and metroid games usually are tough too, but i find prime isnt that hard, sure some times i have trouble finding out what to do to beat a boss, but once i got that idea it isnt that hard most of the time

Its beatable, but yea very hard. This is assumeing you spend all day trying to get it it I suppose without cheating.

I personally thought the Mega Man X games was too hard. I played 1 and 3 as well as Megaman Zero. However I never thought any of the original Mega Man games was hard at all. Well ok Maybe Wily at the end of MEga Man 7. A person could go insane trying to beat him!

the last boss on snake rattle and roll on the nes was virtually impossible. i remember sitting down playing it back in the day, hitting the foot thing repeatedly for half and hour and it still didnt die.

The hardest ever game HAS to be Spiderman V's the Xmen: Arcade's revenge on the Super Nintendo.

Well i know you said no bugs or games that was hard because of controls, but i will mention some.

Jet Set Willy's I, II & 3:
Good games but hard & very hard considering some of the original tapes of Jet Set Willy II had a bug. I got all the items went to the bedroom & the bitch would still not let me in.

Super Hydlide:
Mega Drive Game, can be hard unless you spend time lvl'ing up. But there was a buggy version out there that for some reason one peice of the Fairy Armour was missing so you could not face the final boss & thus not finish the game.
Poor old me was one of the peeps that bought it & had a buggy ver.

Ys 3:
Mega Drive Game, hard game unless you spend time lvl'ing up. Final Boss is still hard but not bad ass hard. The Super Nintendo version was easy for some reason.

Wardner:
Arcade Game: Arcade version was hard & the final boss was like OMG hard.

Metroid:
Original Nintendo Version: This game i think was hard in general & so where the bosses. But then i was about 8yrs old when i played it & if you played it today you would find it boring compared to the current Metroid games/ remakes.

Batman:
Original Nintendo Version: This game was easy & hard at the same time bosses could be hard but it was mainly down to the controls & poor reactions from the game.

Robo Aleste:
Mega CD, Can be hard, but the second to last boss is a mega bitch & allot harder than the final boss.
