SP2 Help!

Post by SinTex »

I once read info on how it is better to have a Official Windows XP Pro SP2 Disc than it would be to have say
Official Windows XP Pro SP1 with SP2 slipstreamed into it by yourself say.

However i am having trouble finding data on this, could anyone come up with links to sites with info on it or have information themsevles as to exactly why.

The only thing i can think of is that it might install & run faster & be more efficient but i require proper technical info on it to prove this to my friend.

It's better to have SP2 slipstreamed than to install SP2 over an old install of SP1. Can't say I've ever heard the advice you give above though.

EDIT: Oops, misread the post

I'm sure that a slip-streamed CD is just the same as using a standard XP CD with SP2 preinstalled.

I have experience using both and there isn't any difference that I can tell.

Yeah I don't know why there would be a difference between a slipstreamed SP2 and an "original" SP2 disc.
