When big company a aquires smaller company b, company b's products usually don't cease to exist unless they compete with those of company a. You have very little to worry about, as Adobe will likely expand on Macromedia's technologies and implement them into their own. Imagine getting Photoshop and Flash in the same software package

Oh yeah.
Adobe buying Macromedia means people won't be making Flash stuff anymore.
Because everybody on Newgrounds paid full price for their copies of Director or whatever.
Because warez is wrong and the majority of internet users have strong ethical grounds to not steal software they didn't pay for.

dreamweaver will either merge with golive, or golive will be phased out
photoshop will stay, fireworks will probably be intergrated into dreamweaver or flash
director is already being phased out
freehand will be phased out in favour of illustrator
i went to an official macromedia seminar a couple of weeks ago and this appeared to be what i took from them. flash is VERY much here to stay, seemed to me that macromedia's side of the company is pretty muh entirely focusing on flash now, the new video stuff as well as flashplayers on cellphones is all exciting stuff.
