I saw Serenity last night, and the trailer reel had two trailers for Doom. I have no desire to see that movie.

I saw the poster, I need to see the movie.
Let me explain. The poster is of some explosiony effects, and some monster emerging from them. And all you see of any person is his hands holding the gun. Total FPS perspective. That tells me that somehow they understood what they were making. They weren't making a major space-opera drama to rival the Trilogy or Lord of the Rings. No, they were making 90+ minutes of video game shlock, rife with references and nods to the fans.
Much like the game Doom wasn't really about horror, but about blasting anything that moved.

I saw a trailer for it a few weeks ago in a UK cinema.

wrong analogy imho, if doom the movie lacks a plot, its true to doom3, and all doom games for that matter, spectacular action and no story to slow the action downBoneyCork wrote:So according to IGN its a great movie as long as you ignore the lack of plot.
Thats like calling a videogame good as long as you ignore the lack of gameplay.
im getting quite curious, but i think ill hold out till it hits the theater before i DL it

That sounds like "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". Lots of good action, just didn't know wtf was going on with the storyline.Disheveled DrFreeze wrote:wrong analogy imho, if doom the movie lacks a plot, its true to doom3, and all doom games for that matter, spectacular action and no story to slow the action downBoneyCork wrote:So according to IGN its a great movie as long as you ignore the lack of plot.

I'll probably be going to see Doom though. I haven't played Doom 3, but I was a huge Doom 1/2 fan back in the day.
