Sonic Gems Collection

The release date is August 16th. Anyone planning to get it?

For those of you who are behind and haven't heard the full game list, it will contain:

Sonic CD
Sonic R
Sonic The Fighters

Sonic Spinball
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic The Hedgehog Triple Trouble
Sonic Drift Racing 2
Tails? Skypatrol
Tails Adventures

and it is rumored to have both Vectorman games as well. Some people are mad and ordering the import version instead because it will contain the Streets Of Rage games (taken out of the US release to avoid the T rating), as well as the original EU/JP soundtrack for Sonic CD. Personally, I was never that big of a SoR fan (my sister has all the SoR games on Genesis anyway), and I really liked the US soundtrack for Sonic CD.

What do you guys think of this compilation? Who here is importing it?

Hmm this or continuing to emulate Sonic CD on my xbox? this has an edge with fighters but R brings the whole thing down a lot. I shall wait for a cheap one probably

it is having both Vectorman's and its not a rumor. Might pick it up, this is a GC exclusive right?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's GC only. The Xbox and PS2 Mega Collections already got the GG games, so this is like Sega trying to make it up to the GC users saying "sorry, here you go".

ARRGGHHH Vectorman!?!?!? I hate that game, its too damn hard and......dude SOR is better in all aspects, the pouding sounds of yuzo koshiro for christ sakes!!! I am importing, american version can go to hell.

Or you can not whine about it and just pick up the original Genesis cartridge for like $2 at EB or something. It was an okay game, but isn't rare by any means.

I'm getting soley for Sonic cd. Others like sonic R and many of the others, I don't reconize.

I just hope that for this next gems that you don't have to play a certain game a half-a-dozen times to unlockthe hidden games; that was very annoying!!!!

I've been meaning to import the revamped Bonk's Adventure game for the import cube. As a fan of both the tg-16 and the Bonk games, I will prolly love it.

It's funny to see all these people being pissed about there being no SoR in the US version. I mean, it's a SONIC collection, not a Genesis Beat-Em-Up collection.

I'm not getting pissed... I mean if they're offering a better game and an extra game (Streets of Rage 3) in the JAP version then why not import it rather than buy the US version? Sega should at least put an extra game in the US version make up for the extra Streets of Rage game.

Plus, I thought Vectorman was an ass of a game compared to Streets of Rage.

Mainly becasue it costs more if you import it, you gotta buy a boot disc and go through the annoyingness of swapping discs, and deal with japanese menus just to get an extra game that you can pick up for a buck or two at Gamestop.

Not if you do the region switch mod. Simple switch can change the GameCube to JAP mode.

Don't know about the states, but here in the UK a decent copy of SOR3 is not cheap. Last I checked, around ?25-?30 boxed.

I might pick it up for Sonic CD. I couldn't care less about Vectorman or SOR. I liked the SOR games, but not enough to import.
