Most rap "songs"... it's depressing to see that people buy that pseudo-music sh1t. :x
Lines join in faint discord and the Stormwatch brews
. . a concert of Kings as the white sea snaps
. . at the heels of a soft prayer
. . whispered

Yay for prejudice and ignorance!*

*At least you are when you post it in an unrelated thread without examples

Paradise Lost - I am nothing
Cross Fade - Dead Skin

Line from Paradise lost - I am nothing "My hopeless days I sit and justify, my wholesome life in which I am so deprived, I hope and pray, I don't stay around, too long to stay because I am nothing"

Line from Cross Fade - Dead Skin "I pray somedays someone will blow me away, make it quick but let it burn, so I can feel my life fade, I am a waste and I can taste how bitter I become and it's more then I can bare"

I love emo songs.
Depressing music fits my mood,always.
Have you played dreamcast today?

The original is better, IMO, though Buckley does do a pretty good job of it.

Actually, most of Leonard Cohen's stuff is pretty depressing.

really you think? i got the best of Leonard Cohen's from my sister for xmas and i was dissapointed with his (original) version. Jeff Buckley version is so powerfull, he has/had a great voice. (btw, i'm not saying Leonard Cohen's version is bad)

if i listened to completely irrelevent and outdated music like jethro tull, i'd probably think modern music like rap was shit too.

Lilac Wine is also quite depressing, But i prefer Jeff's version to the Elkie Brooks original for some reason.

Also, While we are on the subject of Jeff, PJ Harvey : Memphis.

It's probably because you were familiar with Buckley's version before you heard the original. I've found that to be the case much of the time -- for example, still on Leonard Cohen, I heard Concrete Blonde's version of Everybody Knows before I heard the original. I love Concrete Blonde's version, and still prefer it to the original.

My favorite Leonard Cohen song, by the way, has got to be The Sisters of Mercy. Is that on the comp you have?
