Well, first you need to figure out how to build a workable E/M field to trap the laser, using today's battery technology...
After that it'd be easy.

All you need is a pole, gaffer tape,a camera, a special effects program, and some idea of what rotoscoping is. Quite easy actually. I have a clip I made I will post it tomarrow. I know Don has seen it.

Best Buy sells replica lightsabers. They are motion sensitive, as well as touch sensitive, and it makes authentic sound effects based on your movements. It also has a hilt made out of the same materials that were used on the set. The only problem is it is ridiculously priced at $119.
