Im just happy it won't feature Toon graphics. Just look at some of the responses people have to this game. I don't recall anybody being this excited about Wind Waker.impetus wrote:hopefully this one won't feature hour-long sailing expeditions
Just goes to prove my long argued point, fantasy graphics is better then cell-shaded graphics.

It never took over 15 minutes to get whatever piece of treasure you were after. You just had to use the warp points effectively.impetus wrote:hopefully this one won't feature hour-long sailing expeditions

I was refering to how it was severly delayed, but I guess I misunderstood his question.|darc| wrote:Uhh... Ocarina of Time was never planned as a Super NES game.melancholy wrote:Ocarina of Time. Bah, I beg to contend. Sailing was something that I didn't care too much about at the beginning, I'd just use the cameras and admire the graphics and the cool waves, sprites, etc... then I just couldn't bother to find the millions of treasures in the sea, utilizing the warps or not it was honestly painstaking. I'm never this impatient, but I couldn't believe that I was getting so annoyed with sailing. It really struck the pleasure factor down quite a bit. And in between piss poor difficulty, and absolutely no sword swinging, I just could not finish the game. I was horribly let down with WW. I've never not started a game like that and ended up dropping it. It amazes me.
The cel shading techniques were definitely innovative, and a nice change from the uber-serious graphics but the gameplay and execution sucked. I remember quite a bit of anticipation, and even more let down. And it's not just the hardcore Zelda fanboys that were disappointed. I'm sure that this Zelda game will be more closely related to the gameplay in which OoT and MM brought to our N64s. Really, anything that doesn't blow as much as WW will make me happy.

Just goes to prove my long argued point, fantasy graphics is better then cell-shaded graphics.
But the thing people don't seem to get about the approach they took for Wind Waker is this: they chose the cel-shading approach because it was appropriate to the story they wanted to tell and mood they wanted wanted to convey, and they're taking the fantasy approach in this game for the same reasons. Neither is "better" than the other.
I'm a lone wolf looking for trouble.
But it was originally planned as 64DD exclusive. So actually, OoT eventually was DOWNGRADED, not upgraded by delays. Well, something like that. I'm not a big fan of OoT though, so whatever.|darc| wrote:Uhh... Ocarina of Time was never planned as a Super NES game.melancholy wrote:Ocarina of Time. How to be a Conservative:
