officially the baby boom (in the US) is 1946-64 that's one long session,
and i always find it humurous that some of the children of that generation now try to preach abstinence
to their own kids while Gran And Granpa were probably at it like rabbits.
in the UK the baby boom kinda started when war was declared.

mikozero you realize I argue for the sake of arguing right? I picked the side that would get the most attention. You also missed my point, as I was talking about promiscuity, as in sleeping with many different girls. As long as you stay with one girl (I don't give a damn about marriage, just being faithful to your woman) you can have sex until your penis falls off as far as I'm concerned.
That said, pedophiles who act out their desires are scum and deserve to spend their lives with Big Bubba in a state prison, not the federal luxery houses.

but here goes,
Back when Aids was still quite a new big deal and the goverment here was still running hard hitting ads telling you how promiscuous sex would kill you, i lived with 6 girls, none of us were going out with one another nor did we want to (nor were any of us looking for a long term relationship), they all stayed in my house because that's were we used to 'crash' after a night out, (we were quite hardcore clubbers/concert goers and used to always go out as a group, we always had a great night and really enjoyed each others company) and i offered to put them up as they one by one got jobs in the big local town where my (large) house was and otherwise they would have had to commute from the small (rather boring) far away villages they came from, greatly reducing their 'take home pay' (they moaned me into it really), most were supposed to flat hunt, but that never really happened, we shared the bills, takeaway, sometimes beds (nothing happened originally) and sometimes even cuddles on the couch in front of the TV, things were easy then, we all worked and we always seemed to have plenty of money around.
at some point they decided that they were going to stop having sex with people they didn't really know or to put it another way people they had just met while out drinking, dancing or otherwise (we really didn't drink that much other things being much more central to our our 'scene'), previously to this we would try to make space and all disappear in the 2 cars we had between us if someone was looking for a bit of, ahem, 'privacy'. they decided we should get tested for STDs en mass and afterwards only f*ck each other (yes you read that right) which we did, all going to the clinic for the tests together.
they were also all on the pill, and i personally used expensive hi-quality condoms, the last thing any of these girls wanted at that time was a kid, all were also what you might call bi-sexual, some more than others, there was one simple rule, if you really wanted to go out with someone you met, you left our little secret arrangement behind. this is what happened over the longer term, one by one they met guys/girls and moved back into the bedrooms they had waiting back at their family homes or found their own place or moved in with their new partner, to this day all we are all great friends (with very deep caring connections to each other) and we had some seriously rockin times.
this is where my view comes from,

Wow. I didn't realize it went on that long. My mom's a baby boomer and my oldest sister is nearly one herself (1969).

It's not. Not by my definitions of the words anyway. There have been a few people I've known who had a similar setup to yours (though in their case, it was just a friend or two, not a large group). I don't see the problem - but I'm areligious and such, so there ya go.
