Theres some good stuff coming out about 5 good titles. Thats pretty awsome. I doubt FFIII comes out.
You know since it has been canceled for 3 systems. WSC, GBA and PSX.
I'd really like to see some Square PSX games ported to DS or PSP I couldn't care less which one probably ps unless the game could benifit from anything other than suprior graphics.

Re: Complete DS Release List
I whittled out the crap, thats a nice lineup right there, even without the 'rumoured' stuff.DaMadFiddler wrote: Advance Wars 3 (Nintendo)

I also hotlinked a trailer for Another Code, because most people probably haven't heard about it - I have to say, it looks intriguing.
I'd rather see new games than ports, thats why THISis good news for DS ownersClessy wrote: I'd really like to see some Square PSX games ported to DS or PSP I couldn't care less which one probably ps unless the game could benifit from anything other than suprior graphics.

Yeah so port it to GBA and forget about DS. It doesnt need ds's power for a decent port.DaMadFiddler wrote:I mostly agree, except that I'd add the following back into the list:
Age of Empires
Meteos
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Super Mario Bros. DS
As for RPGs, I don't really care for the genre overall...however, if we must talk about ports, I wouldn't mind a handheld version of ChronoTrigger.
And let me ass Another Code looks great.

I got mine for free very soon after the US launch, but I mostly use it as a slightly nicer GBA (I've come to the conclusion I prefer the horizontal layout of the old skool GBA and DS to the vertical layout of the SP, plus the DS backlight is really nice - the SP looks kind of faded after playing on a DS) because there is nothing at all out worth actually buying on it IMO.
I think it got released early to spoil the PSPs fun, and the quality software wont start appearing until summer at the earliest (although Wario Ware Touched should be good, theres nothing besides that looking for a purchase from me this quarter)

I don't see how you can say there is nothing out worth buying as many of the Japanese titles out are very easily accessible.

Age of Empires (Majesco) - eh, wake me up when Starcraft or Rise of Nations gets announced
Caduceus: Surgical Operation (Atlus) - never heard of it, from the name sounds like that boardgame operation
Jam with the Band (Nintendo) - I'm not a big Bemani fan
Meteos (Bandai/Q Entertainment) - I haven't played a genuinely good puzzler since puzzle fighter unfortunately, puyo puyo pop fever included
Metroid Prime: Hunters - the demo surprised me by having such a good control system, but I prefer the Metroid series in 2D - Megaman Zero was more Metroid to me than either of the GC ones were
Polarium (Nintendo) - Puzzler
Puppy Times (Nintendo) - never heard of it - is is that virtual pet 'game'? Because Dogz on PC is like ?2
Super Mario Bros. DS - If its a new SMB game, woohoo - if its the third time Ninty have released SMB ona handheld WHO DOESNT HAVE IT YET?
World Soccer Winning Eleven series (Konami) - How many copies of ISS / PES do you really need anyway?
Zoo Keeper (Ignition) - another puzzler

I got a game of my choice with the system (SMB64x4) and 2 games of my choice as another bonus a while ago - I preordered WArio Ware:TOUCHED and went with Fire Emblem GBA rather than the likes of Arsefelt GT or Da Urbzzzz Word Homey Biznatch, For Real.
The only thing I play on my DS *as a DS* is some of those insanely addictive minigames in SMB64x4 seeing as how the multiplayer is so crap, and the single player is the same as the N64 version but with slightly worse controls
EDIT: Actually, the DS probably has the weakest launch lineup I've yet seen for a Nintendo console and if I hadn't literally been given one I wouldn't be too bothered if I had to wait until next christmas by which time some decent games should be out.
If you never picked up a GBA until now, you might as well just skip it and go straight for the DS though, lots of GBA goodness back-catalogued, plus probably some decent titles for DS showing up over the next year

Pick up Feel the Magic, Nyar. Only DS game out currently (imo) that's any good.
Age of Empires. Hell yes. FFIII oh yeah. Legend of Zelda Four Swords: brilliance. PSO--
If they get online multi in AoE and PSO (err, yeah), that would rock. And Four Swords online multi....w/ mic support...that would kick ass.

Which, except for the Gundam Seed game (Make it akin to battle assault for PS2, and you have yourself a deal),and perhaps the pokemon games, are all interesting (that is, as long as spyro isn't the top-down gba crap).Nyarlathotep should have also wrote wrote: Mobile Suit Gundam Seed (Bandai)

considering psp's insane price point along with all the stuff you hafta buy with it anywaze i wanted a DS before ,but now with a decent looking line up better than what i had seen a few months ago i think once i get some cash together ill grab a DS. the only thing i wish was that Nintendo pushes more 3D games on the DS cause to me with all the 2D games on its making it nothing more than a glorified GBA.
