MSN Desktop Search

I saw MSN Desktop Search on another computer and I was surprised by how well it works! It's actually fast and reliable... who knew MSN was capable of such? Anyway it seems it doesn't work on Windows Server 2003.

Know of any similar apps that I can try? I really love how the search results pop up in the little fold-up window, and how quick it works. I tried an indexed search system before but it was slow and cumbersome.

It's pitiful though. Really is.

It's like going on the internet to search for files that are three folders away.

actually, you dont need a 'net connection to use googles desktop search. the desktop search software runs a tiny webserver on your computer which contains the interface for searching the results. do a quick search again and look at the address bar.

I know that. It just feels cumbersome the way it works... at least MSN feels more like a part of Windows except for the eight-hundred MSN logos it puts everywhere. Either way I got MSN to work on Windows 2003 so all is good now... as soon as I finish eradicating MSN logos from it with Resource Hacker.
