Car people: 1989 Peugeot 505s

Time to buy my first car.

Does anyone know anything about these cars (older Peugeots)?

The ad said "barely broken in at 190k", obviously an exaggeration but are these cars known for getting "up there" in mileage?

How difficult would it be to have worked on? An obscure french car from 1989?

Is 900-1000USD a reasonable price?

parts are a bitch to find on a peugeots, at least in CA. If you needed work done on a peugeot, you would need to go to a specialist or do it yourself. At least in Los Angeles the only people who work on them are peugeot specialists. ANd besides hondas, Id be weary of a car with 200k on it.

It's a bitch to find a peugeot and I don't imagine that hard to find parts, you just order from france which costs money but it's not hard to find the only problem is that working on it especially french cars you're on your own. I don't get why the hell you'd even by a peugot, they are nice cars, when I lived in Spain I rode in them, they are very nice, but it just seems kind of stupid to buy one if you live in the USA. That's like a french person importing a 1990 Caddillac Coupe De Ville to France just as a first car, the novetly of it but it's nothing to brag about in the USA and is going to cost you a lot of money.

In San Jose you also need to find someone to fix these kinds of cars, not many people do it. I don't really know much about this car except that.

No offense to anyone who has posted in this thread, but I don't think DCEmu is a good place to ask about cars. I think you can guess why.

I wasn't trying to insult you or anyone else. Fact is, jaredfogle would be better off asking in a car forum with more people who can supply him with good info as opposed to here with just a few people who know what they're talking about.

280z are really nice, I wish I could get one. They are pretty cheap here. THe most expensive I saw was $2300. I know a lot about specs and main problems on cars 1990+

I highly doubt its barely broken in at 190k, and the transmission will be loose. For that price I wouldnt mind buying it, only because I would fix it myself. I dont know, I would say buy a Honda.

Listen here, as much as I like the Bmw's, they are not quite as dependable as Hondas. They are better looking, better driving, plus they have more class. But Honda outperforms almost all other automaker with their long lasting value and quality. Other than that, screw Honda.

Civics suck. And my E30 would beat any suckers car in here. maybe when I showhorn a v6 into my old ass Beemer
