Avatar help

This may seem like a n00b's requset, but thats what I am, I'm new to the forum's and I was wondering if anyone has a good place to find anime avatars, I like my red mage avatar but I want something better, Any help would be nice.

best advice i could give is to surf on anime forums and steal their avatars.

1) pick an anime
2) :google:

3) resize to taste

doing this for 5 minutes I came up with the following potential avatars

replace Arucard with Vash / Goku / Tsukasa / whatever flavour of the month anime character the kids love nowadays

EDIT: I believe number 2 is my custom spray in Natural Selection

Speaking of Avatars i think i will use a new one & yes i am aware my avatar is a picture of
Super Saiyan 4 Goku from Dragonball GT & that my Rank image shows Dragonball Z. If i am really bored i might change it

Sin - there was nothing wrong with your av, I just spot the popular characters a lot on other forums

I meant to thank you for those, I tried to do what you said, but My paint software wont let me resize, so I figured I'd use one of you're Hellsing one's, I hope you don't mind.

I don't I just assumed you'd want something a bit better / more individual to you

I suggest you try Paintshop Pro for avatar making needs, its a nice free image editing application - its about a squillion times better than Paint anyway

Also, check out PhotoPlus (made by Serif). There is a freeware version of that program (I think it's version 5.5), and it is almost as good as PSP or PhotoShop. Just for reference sake, you can look at all of the images the burnerO puts out. He uses PhotoPlus as his graphics app, and seems to do pretty well with it.

Nyar: It's o.k i have just been meaning to use a different image of Goku for awhile, i like my knew one better is fits me more.
Your mention of his name simpy reminded me, a min of using Paintshop Pro 8 to crop it & save is not exactly time consuming.

Sephiroth: I also recommend Painshop pro, either 7 or 8.
Depends on how fast ya pc is, 8 takes a lot longer to load compared to 7 also takes longer to get used to where stuff is.
