What game made you say WOW?
ok, theres plenty of consoles out there.... but what game did you see, in a magazine, or gameing store, or on TV that made you say WOW, I must have that console!
remember, these have to be CONSOLE SPECIFIC games, i.e. Sonic = MegaDrive, Mario = NES,
so, you cant say multi console games like StreetFighter 2 or something like that...
for me I reccon:
Dreamcast : has to be JSR..
Xbox : well I would like to say JSRF, BUT its 'HALO'
GameCube : Zelda made me say wow for weeks
GBA : Super Mario World 2 (portable SNES games!?!)
PlayStation : ermm, this is hard? cant think of ANY!?
N64 : Maro 64 (did you just say 3D Mario?!)
PS2 : probably GTA3... I have the PC version...
old school:
MegaDrive : Sonic 1 ("wow! its like a cartoon!")
SNES : Super Mario World, I know I said it for the GBA but wow..
Atari : PitFall.. what a game
GameBoy : Tetris.. not the looks but the playbility...
I GUESS THATS IT?!
you?

OK, these are not my favourite games (well some are) these are just ones that for me, have a high wow factor...
Dreamcast:
Shenmue (The opening sequence, the graphics, the emotion)
Shenmue II (Disc 3 and the ending)
PS2:
GTA: VC (I played this before GTA3, and everything I did was just so cool)
Gamecube:
Super Smash Bros Melee (I hated the original, and I was amazed how much i loved this)
Zelda: WW (Just the size of it)
PlayStation:
Wipeout (Playing this for the first time, showed me the dawn of a new videogame generation)
Metal Gear Solid (First game I played through with a proper story, beautiful)
N64:
Perfect Dark (Not as good as Goldeneye overall, but everything new amazed me)
1080 Snowboarding (The speed and the landscapes)
Mega Drive:
Sonic 2 (The first game I ever full completed)
SNES:
F-Zero (I didnt have a SNES, but this game wouldve amazed me at the tme)

NES: Kirby's Adventure - I played this around the time that I was starting to get bored of my NES, but it was the first game I played with a save feature. WOW!
Genesis: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - first game on Genesis I played since it came with the system and the first game I played that wasn't 8-bit. I couldn't believe how great the graphics looked and how fast it was.
SNES: Mario All-Stars+Mario World - all the best Mario games on one cartridge. 0_0
PSX: Final Fantasy VIII - I had my PSX since it first came out but this was the first game I played with a really great story, I couldn't believe how great a game it was after I beat the first disc.
N64: Super Mario 64 - the first 3D platformer game I played (Crash Bandicoot doesn't count) and it had great music too, just listening to the soundtrack brings back really good memories.
DC: TIE for Sonic Adventure and PSO - Sonic Adventure for its graphics and speeds, the smoothest game I had ever played at the time, PSO for being so interactive online, that game isn't just a game, it's like a community
GC: Metroid Prime - this and SSBM were the first two GC games I got, but I had played SSBM at a friend's house before and the graphics don't really show off GC's power, but when Samus did the morph ball for the first time on Metroid Prime I knew how awesome the GC was.
PC: Nothing yet, my PC is crap and doesn't play games past the speeds and graphics of Duke Nukem 3D.

They're also not released by one of the major software company / publishers on the planet (Acclaim).BoneyCork wrote:Nyar, if you are considering that fact that it uses topless women to seell a crap product, I could give you a list of games that go one step further than that...of course, theyre all dodgy hentai ones, but still. they're not exactly up in the higher echelons of gaming...
Its like Warner Brothers releasing a Snuff movie at the Box Office.
