Why does Top Gear US suck?

I'll tell you why:

1) The cameras : Instead of high quality cameras like the brit TG team uses, they go for those shoddy reality-tv'ish crap quality cameras. And the cinematography - its shot like a shit reality tv show. Bumpy shots, quick focusing with blurs, stupid random shots from the side of the car, brightness control issues. Just crap

2) The hosts. Ok I get it, One irritating guy (the italian), one annoying guy (glasses guy) and one cocky driver ( who somehow is the most likeable). They lack the charisma of the Brit team. Can't say much more than that.

3) the packaging. again, crap. The intro and outro is a hair metal meets ed hardy meets rhianna visual nightmare. It just screams "lets make this AMERICAN cool!" Its like Poochy (from that simpsons episode) personified into a tv show.

4) This kind of goes back to #1, its shot as a psuedo reality show, but not in the nice crisp way of TGBritain or even The Office. It looks like another throw away reality tv show, except they focus on cars.

The concepts of some of the shows are good, but they seem to remove any common sense to 'quirk it up' a bit. Theres surely some common sense lacking in the Brit one, but its done in a way that doesn't feel as contrived or flat-out dumb.

God I hate that show. Why can't it be better?

You think that's bad, you should see Top Gear Australia. That only lasted 2 or 3 seasons and the people in the first season weren't the people in the last season, I think they replaced 1 or 2 of them. It was that bad they couldn't retain the same hosts!

Please don't. If you do though, make sure you know all Australians aren't like that. Watch the episode with the Brits vs Aussies if you watch any of them.

I tried to watch the US one a couple times but I just couldn't do it.

No, its not a threadjack at all. totally on topic. I wont form an opinion on the aussies through that show. but sadly, you can form an opinion of 'mericans through our shitty top gear. because actually, the whole production of the show including the hosts is a somewhat apt representation of the US.

Stupid ideas with no common sense, the personality archtypes, the cinemaography. God, actually maybe thats what the producers were going for all along.. pure genius.

Because EVERY U.S remake of a british show sucks!

And no, Don't take that the wrong way Americans! you can do good.. My favorite show of all time is American. but ANY time you redo something another nation already did, YOU FUCK IT UP MAJOR!

And please don't think I'm here bragging about Australia, we're just as bad as you, our top gear SUCKS FUCKING ASS TOO.

I'm a car nut, and a comedy nut.. Top gear... THE REAL TOP GEAR, is the only show that gets both perfect!

haha, i have recently noticed that there are A LOT of shows here which are Brit 'remakes'. I agree for the majority of the remakes, but I do enjoy the american 'the office' more. In the british version is just too subtle, and is more akin to british humor than american humor.
