Iv got the shell running so far on my dreamcast hardware, still needs some work and don't know how fast , compatibility ,sound etc are working yet. Still need to figure out how to mount the dc gdrom as a drive to load dos games from also.

Whoaaa...... that's great!!

I've never really known what DOSBox is though. I'm assuming it lets you play old DOS based computer games, yes?

Whoa! Consider me extremely interested.

Jazz Jackrabbit on your Dreamcast, man. That would be the end-all be-all of cool.

Pretty much. It's a DOS emulator.

NO WAY!!! DOSBox supports Mario is Missing and Reader Rabbit! Those games were like staples in my youth!

Now, I am officially excited.

DOSBOX requires a pretty powerfull pc so I wonder how fast games would look on the DC.

Awesome job GPF! I've been using DosBox for years and always wondered if this thing could be playable on the DC. Once you figure out how to mount the GD-ROM and get support for the controllers then we can find out what this thing can do! :D

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I seriously doubt the DC would be able to handle Jazz. Jazz runs choppy at times on my AMD Athlon 1.8Ghz PC, which was disappointing because I love Jazz. :?

I'm predicting the only games that will run at a good speed are the early DOS games, like Barbarian, Shamus, Kroz, ZZT, etc. If Commander Keen runs well, not only would I be surprised, but VERY excited! :)

Best of luck with this GPF!

This is the man, GPF. So many good games we could have if it runs well.

BTW, GPF, are you still planning to mess with DCNeoPop and REminiscence?

Good.
Does it supports memory managers, as DOS4GW/CWSPMI ?
