Dreamchess.

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Agreed! :D Keep up the great work guys! I assume that the 3D modeller spot has been filled by now?
No, unfortunately it hasn't.

Hi all. Some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that MrSiggler and I are working towards 0.1.0 and we expect it to be finished Real Soon Now (tm).

The bad news is that my Dreamcast is broken. It's been struggling for a few days and today it finally broke down... the good way, with smoke and all. ;) Anyway, as a result I can't work on the Dreamcast version of DreamChess at this time.

So I'm now looking for a replacement Dreamcast. I checked auction sites and I've been unable to find anything affordable. All I need is a bare console, preferably PAL. If anyone can help me find one cheap, please let me know.

If you have a 60hz set, I can set you up with a NTSC dreamcast for free (you could replace the Power Unit with the one from your PAL DC so you wouldn't have to worry about power concerns) if you don't mind a bit of rust and scratches on the cover (from scraping on the back of my van from going to the various locations of DreamCon).

It still works well, it just doesn't look so hot.

Phantom, I could send you a PAL one if you pay for delivery - PM me for the details :)

Meta, maybe you could send yours to fackue ? I once was about to send him one of mine, but he obviously needed a US-NTSC Dreamcast - and it's not easy to find one here in Europe.
