Changing DreamInducer's theme

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Changing DreamInducer's theme

Post by LyingWake »

I don't really care for the new banana dude theme and I'd like to continue using the original Greencast theme. How can I do that and what files do I need?

I probably should have tested this before I even posted this, but I assume I can download the sbt file, stick it in the Sbi folder along with my SBIs and it should extract accordingly and all by itself. Should I have to do anything extra?

I dont think you have to. But how do you switch themes while using it?

You could also just copy it to the proper directory if its on the disc. Then selfboot it.

Yes. If you place the SBT in your SBI folder, SBInducer will extract the SBT for you, and you will be using that theme instead of the dancing banana theme.

DarkSavant - it's impossible to change themes while using DreamInducer. You can only have one active theme on a disc.

Sbiffy has a few. You'll have to use the direct link since the .com is expired.

I think curt_grymala has some in his site. I've made a handful on my site(link on sig.) If I'm right most of the themes at http://covers.boob.co.uk wont work since theyre not *sbt. Anyone can confirm this?

It looks as if you rename them to sbt they're work fine, but don't hold that to me.

Not IIRC. However, even if they don't, there is a tutorial on DCHelp explaining how to take a DreamInducer theme and turn it into an SBT.

politoe - where have you been? Nice to see you pop in every once in a while.

Most of my themes are up on Sbiffy at this point. I don't think I have any themes hosted exclusively on my site anymore (except possible the BOR one I did).

That reminds me - I don't think the B!CC SBT I made is online anywhere anymore. I should upload that back to my site.

With a very little modifying you could even get DreamInducer to switch themes while browsing via your Dreamcast

I was just out of internet since last fall. Also, I was working a lot that I didn't have time to even go to the libary and use the computer there. Now I'm back for a good while.
