i only ask because i don't really use goodnes filenames.. most of my roms are renamed to simpler titles, i.e. "Megaman 2"
It uses GoodNES names, but I understand that people won't necessarily care for the extra info in the name like (U) (J) [a1] etc...

So, it would be easy to have the renaming mechanism to strip these if you want. Then you will have names like "Megaman 2".
Just wondering how the renaming mechanism would interact with hacked roms. For example, I have about 20 different versions of Tecmo Super Bowl, one for each year. They are named something like TSB 99, TSB 2002, etc.

Maybe then someone could check to see how the vs link works since we know what you are sending, and make some kind of pc cable for it and that would enable online play somehow. I dunno.

Because it would be cool.

I know that GoodNES keeps track of a lot of hacks, but something like TSB might not be in its database, especially since I'm sure there might be multiple versions of the same year floating around since people would debate over the players' attributes.

Either way, you'll be able to manually rename them.

It's still very early, but when Grandtheftendo will be released, will it be supported by your version?
I read it's using a custom mapper, so if it isn't supported by default would it be possible that you can make this game work?

For more info check http://www.grandtheftendo.com/

If you read the other NesterDC topic, support for this is already to be added. So dont worry.

No way Scherzo would make special edition 2.

Why wouldn't he? He's mention it before (not specifically SE v2, but quote, "newer versions").

Is it possible to implement playback support for Famtasia and FCE Ultra movies? There are some awesome movies recorded with these emulators here and it would be extremely cool to play them on the DC.

Question: since the DC has more than enough RAM to deal with NES ROM images, would it be at all practical to have a feature for using IPS patches?

For example, if I have a "pure" Super Mario Bros. image, and I have IPS patch files for Luigi's New Quest and Super Mario Remix, would it be possible to have a NesterDC option that would let me apply one of these patches to the game while it's in RAM, and thus play the modified version without having to actually burn a modified ROM image to the disc?

DaMadFiddler - Excellent idea.

(Adds to list)

Assuming there's either some code or documentation out there on how to apply IPS patches, it should be do-able.

IPS patches aren't usually too big though (IPS files are just the difference between a hacked rom and the original, it's easy and less shady to distribute). I'd be more than satisfied with an emulator that has cleaner menues and folders to organized the patched roms. I don't know much about programing, but wouldn't patching and unpatching files use waste memory? Just wondering, not trying to be a dink in the least. :)
