SDL Linux ZSNES = Portable?

SDL Linux ZSNES = Portable?

Hey all,

I don't mean to beat a bloody dead horse, but the "unportable" ZSNES is being ported to the Xbox! That's the first time I've heard of any attempted console port. Now, I know nothing about coding, but seeing as how SDL libraries are available for the DC (as is Linux), would that make the SDL Linux ZSNES portable to the Dreamcast?

Due to the fact that ZSNES uses a lot of x86 assembly, it can only be ported to x86 platforms without a substantial rewrite. Since Xbox has an x86 processor, it can be ported to it. Dreamcast uses an SH4 processor.

The SDL Linux port of ZSNES just uses SDL for rendering to the screen. Nearly all of the code is in x86 assembler. That's pretty cool that ZSNES will soon see an XBOX port.

ZSnes is written in x86 assembly.
PCs have an x86 processor.
Xboxes have an x86 processir.
The Dreamcast has a Hitachi SH-4 processor.

So no. Still won't work.

Sorry for the pointless suggestion guys. I hadn't realized that fact. I was just surprised to see it ported to a console, but I now understand that it's due to the Xbox's PC-ish innards. A mod can feel free to lock this now. Thanks for your replies.
