Will the Divx movies that you used to be able to buy from stores work with DCDivx? If so, how? Thanks.

Store bought "DivX" movies are not compatible in any way with the Dreamcast. They are (basically) a DVD that is supposed to only be playable for a certain number of times on any particular DVD player. However, that technology never took off, so now you can find the DivX DVDs in some stores that still have them, very cheap. I would stay away from them, unless you've got some higher purpose in mind.

No, the company that made the DIVX codec took the name DIVX from the format you are talking about that were sold at Circuity City, they used the name as a joke, the 2 products have nothing in common other than that.Heatshiver wrote:I'm talking about the short-lived Divx movies sold in stores, that became absurdly cheap because DVDs came out.
