Anyone know the largest file size wise of ROM, a Dreamcast can play (decently)? I'm sure this has probably been spoken of a million times, but for us who don't know including myself, if anyone could say again, that'd be great.
Thanks.
Brian

I know for Segagen, anything bigger than three or four megs will be a problem. Does this help?

Mamed vector roms
Also, any vector-based games have a hard time running in Mamed.

CD != ROMs?lidsnake wrote: Yeah, well if you think about it the dreamcast can play 1 gb roms since all dc games are put on a disc which is 1 gb.
1gb games on CD are MADE TO RUN FROM CD. They are made with the consideration that there is only 16mb of RAM, but 1GB of CD that is best read sequentally.
ROMs always rely on the fact that they WILL FIT IN RAM, and that they will BE in RAM when executing.. they have no concept of loading or anything like that, they're actually supposed to be burned into a ROM (but RAM is fine for emu purposes).
