I don't think it will happen, Because we would have to pay Sega Royalties for using thier character. And i'm sure it is pretty expensive.

And if you look at ALL the Sonic homebrew games out there, only a handful work properly. All the others have him jumping and falling through floors, climbing up vertical walls and randomly falling on invisible spikes.

Does anyone actually know of one that has the correct game physics? I had one a while back, that had Hydro City in it and loved it, but I have since lost it. Anyone?

Oh c'mon, you guys, I don't think Sega gives a crap about 'sonic' anymore! otherwise they wouldn't have whored him off to NINTENDO for the GBA ! Yes, sadly poor Sonic has been raped too brutally. ...

Maybe so, but that is what truly marked the end of Sonic's career. Don't ever expect to see him again.... unless in the gamecube with it's PlaySkool controllers...
And I don't hate him, hell, I loved the old 2D megadrive games!
but sonic adventure/2 sucks, and that was another nail in the coffin...

So get over it. Sony and Micro$oft will be the only contenders in the console race soon.
I'm just saying what has already happened ...let him go.

I don't think Sega would say anything if a FREE homebrew Sonic game was made. I mean there is those crappy sonic games made with Games Factory on PC isn't there? It would probably be easier to just make a clone called Speedy the Groundhog or something though. Just make a slightly different looking Sonic but don't use any of the names. Just my 2 cents.

I thought Gameplay wise both Sonic Adventures was ok. I liked the first one better then the 2nd one though. Even now the detail put into that jungle in the mystic woods impresses me. Just there was a lot of downpoints to the SA games. The storyline on both of them was pretty pathetic, especially the 2nd. Also the voice talent was pretty aweful "Oh no tales your going to crash ahh*. And the animation used in some of those cutscenes was horrible. I mean Dr Robotnic must have magnets in his palm that lets those chao's emerelds stick to it so well. Also SA2 just seemed like a bunch of levels that was made then a cheap story line was stuck in there. The lack of a adventure field really took away from that game. On the same side the Adventure field on SA1 had no meaning. I mean you come out of the casino and BAM here is a key to a ice cavern that just falls from the sky. While I could have done withouth Bigs boreing fishing levels, the gameplay was good in both games. If a Sonic Adventure 3 comes out chances are I will buy it.

I really liked SA 2, mostly because it seemed more finished. of course, i switched to japanese voices with subtitles. Lemme tell ya, it made it seem a lot nicer. Another thing this that there is more action, especially the Sonic/Shadow levels. Those darn things are just plain fun, especially Shadow's highway level. Heck, I even liked the Rouge/Knux and Tails/Eggman levels. :P

Cless, thankx for the link, I had lost that and wanted to try out the updates badly!! :)

Serious guys, Sonic on the DOOM engine is not as bad as it sounds, reminds me a lot of what DOOM Legacy is really capable of, I think it is "based" upon that code infact, at least it seems like it.

Sonic Adventure 2 was pretty awsome I thought, there was more than one type of gameplay going on through out it, thus making it more replayable. It definatly was more polished that SA1, I did not notice any glitches that I can recall. Though both games are very worthy to be called Sonic! Speaking of which, what ever became of that AGES port, we need Sonic CD! :)
