On Pcsx homepage, they say that a new version of PcsxDC is coming soon. I think Mark have improved the speed like a hell, now it use the hardware of the DC (but i think its very buggy).

We can only expect a source release for PcsX DC, not an emulator release (take a look at the "Saturday, August 3" news )

Some one who can compile DC progs could go ahead and compile the DC version from the source of PcSX if they wanted too and put it up for download.

I think we're missing something, there's a lib specified that I can't find. libgpu . The sources.txt even has question marks for it.

Code: Select all

 Platform specifycs
 ------------------

 Windows:
* Visual C++ 6.0

 Linux:
* gtk 1.2.5 - www.gtk.org
* gcc - www.gnu.org/gcc

 DreamCast:

* gcc - http://www.gnu.org/gcc
* KOS 1.1.8cvs - http://dcdev.allusion.net/
* GPU plugin - ????
Snip from Dreamcast make file

Code: Select all

$(TARGET): $(OBJS) romdisk.o
	$(KOS_CC) $(KOS_CFLAGS) $(KOS_LDFLAGS) -o $(TARGET) $(KOS_START) \
		$(OBJS) romdisk.o $(OBJEXTRA) -L$(KOS_BASE)/lib -lgpu -lz -lgl -lpng -lm $(KOS_LIBS)
^-- just to give you an idea what i'm talking about.

If anybody figures it out, keep us posted.
If you think typing 'make' is hard, forget coding.
If you can't figure out the commands to DC-Tool, forget coding.
If you think coding is as easy as typing printf("Hello World\n"); , shoot yourself.

only think i can think of is gpu is a cpu of a type

have you scanned the source code yet for the dependancies

might give up the clue to to what the lib is

will not compile for me alignment errors and int command was changed to net_open is about what i get

even with the lib i dont think it would compile any ways back to looking

its included in the kos base so i guess its a custom lib or some rewitten version of opengl thats all i cant tell sorry

gave it a go

the gpu should compile fine using the makefile. It has no seperate libraries, it uses KOS-GL.

If you have trouble compiling a lot of stuff (it seems mostly libs), you may need to check and see if your compiler and KOS environment is set up correctly. That may be why you have trouble building stuff. Also, make sure you have the correct version of KOS for what you are trying to build (old versions cause hell with code for newer ones and vice versa some times).

Also, I havent taken a look at that source code, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't actually any DC plugin code provided in the source archive. Your best bet would be to hack together your own... I probably still have my software GPU that follows the PSEmuPro spec and compiles for plain framebuffer (vram_s) KOS graphics... the next time I go home I'll dig out my CDRs and unarchive it for whatever purposes...
