NesterDC 7.0 is OUT!!!!!

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Cool - I just came back from a sleepover, and this is what greets me :) (Icadentally, you should try playing Ikaruga at 3am :D). Maybe if I go to another one a new DreamSNES will come out ;)

I'm just off to burn this now, and it looks VERY good (we can now play lightgun games!!)

I would only burn it if you want the extra options and can afford to use another CD-R. The speed is pretty much the same. NesterDc 6.0 had great speed anyways.

Yup. Burner0 just added one to his page today.

Are there any changes/improvments in the GUI except for the new font?

It emulates the NES lightgun, but it uses the DC controller/mouse instead of a DC lightgun. Maybe in the next release.

Keyboard support?

Post by bort »

Has anyone gotten keyboard support to work with NesterDC 7.0? My keyboard isn't detected on startup (where it detects the conrollers), although I'm not sure if it's supposed to be. However, I can't type in games like Family BASIC, etc.

Also, does anyone know how to make a Famicom Disk System work if it requires you to flip the disk to side B? (i.e. Doki! Doki! Panic for example)?

Bort.

Well, I would really like to try it, but I am a beginner with DC.
I understand the the 1ST_READ.BIN is scrambled, but I don't know the consequences of this.
Since in the plain files package that I downloaded at dcemulation.org there is no IP.BIN, where do I get it?

thanks in advance

The IP.BIN is included in the plain files zip, it's in the same folder as the README files.

When I sent Nester 7 through my self boot 'program' (which has worked on everything so far) and I placed the CD in my DC, it got to the license screen and then reboots. Any idea what's going on? Is it my plain files? I've tried in both TAO and DAO modes...and when I did DAO, it went straight to the CD player.... Any help here would be nice....

Later!

It plays Megaman, Super Mario, and Zelda in a good enough speed, if not full, and that makes me happy. Then again, so did Nester 6 :)
