Another small novelty release from DC Evolution, once again it's a game created with Fenix for GP2X and now adapted for the Dreamcast.
This is another game created by Snurty, developed with Fenix in 2008 for the GP2X console. The game is a remake of the classic arcade game Asteroids.
The objective of the game is to destroy all the asteroids and flying saucers that appear from all angles of the screen, shooting a large asteroid will cause it to break into smaller and faster asteroid fragments, making them more difficult to destroy. 50 Points are scored for every large asteroid destroyed, the smaller the asteroid, the more points are available, the flying saucers are worth 500 points, and rescuing a drifting astronaut will give you a bonus score.
This release comprises of DCEvo's version of Chui's Fenix SDL Loader (FSL) from November 2004, edited to exclude the Fenix splash screen and jingle, so Asteroids on Steroids loads directly. The Dreamcast Fenix port does not have support for music in the OGG format, the soundtrack for the game (a four minute infinitely looping tune on the start screens only) has been excluded from the release.
Controls:
Start - Start Game
D-Pad L/R - Rotate Ship
B - Fire Weapon
X (or D-Pad UP) - Thrust
Y - Pause/Quit Options
An archive page has already been created at DCEvo, the CDI, plainfiles, and original GP2X version of the game are available for download. Alternatively, I've attached a standard CDI of the game below.
Enjoy!

I just spent about 3 hours playing this. Very simple but so much fun.DCDa4yDreamer wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2017 4:38 am Another small phenq release from DC Evolution, once again it's a game created with Fenix for GP2X and now adapted for the Dreamcast.
