Tail-Tale (Sega Dreamcast)
Tail-Tale is a puzzle-game made by umi2kick, rerofumi and pyonkey-matsuo.
It plays similar to Tetris Attack.
To hold a block, press A.
While holding a block, you can move it.
When you're happy, release it.
Align 4 or more blocks of the same color to clear them !
You can burn the cdi image with ImgBurn and the cdi plugin.
Burn at 10x (or 12x if you can)
Download link (v1.1) : https://github.com/gameblabla/tailtale/ ... amcast.zip
I would like to thank Indiket and zouzz for their testing and bug report.
Changelog :
V1.1
Improved speed thanks to newer SDL fork and more aggressive opts.

Re: [WIP] Tail-Tale
A quick test on nullDC (tomorrow I'll test on real hard):
* WAV sounds are bad and they are not playing correctly (like the rolling in Falling Time). They need to be redone (all sounds are 11025Hz and 8 bits sample?)
* Emu crashes after 1-2 minutes of playing (I'll verify on real hard but, not a good sign).

I think i'll add you to the credits, your feedback is very useful.Indiket wrote:A quick test on nullDC (tomorrow I'll test on real hard):

Yes, all the sounds are in 11025Hz/8bits.
I updated Tail-tale and now most sound files are 22hz/8bits except for now.
I fixed some other issues as well.
If you want to try it on real hardware,i suggest you to re-download the new version.
Re: [WIP] Tail-Tale
Yay! You're lucky that I'm on holidays! hahaha
I would like to compare it with a Windows version, where can I find the original game?
I looked on Google and seems that there are like two version different games: this one (Fumi2kick (Omamori Shimasu) - http://www.limo.fumi2kick.com/works/tai ... index.html) that is version 1.0? , and another one (TailTale - Shippo no Puzzle) but that one is completely different, right?
About your port:
- I tested your game in real hardware, and works OK (no crashes).
- I noticed that you init OGG (libtremor), but there is no music playing at all (forgot to comment it in first version, too).
* Looking at original files, the music is also in WAV format... did you convert it to OGG? If not, then you don't need libtremor xD
- Sound is now 22KHz and sounds a bit better, but still nothing fancy :/
* Yeah, I saw that sounds are in different frequencies... did you convert them to 22khz? I use Audacity to do this task, and works really cool!

Re: [WIP] Tail-Tale
My version is a fork based on fumi2kick's version.Indiket wrote:I looked on Google and seems that there are like two version different games: this one (Fumi2kick (Omamori Shimasu) - http://www.limo.fumi2kick.com/works/tai ... index.html) that is version 1.0? , and another one (TailTale - Shippo no Puzzle) but that one is completely different, right
The other one is OpenGL-based (i asked him about it) and he has not released the source yet, so it is of no interest for me.
The additions made to his version are of no interest for a platform like the Sega Dreamcast.
(except online play, but who sucessfully implemented that in a homebrew game for Dreamcast ?)
Yeah, NullDC is probably the most unstable emulator i've ever seen.Indiket wrote: - I tested your game in real hardware, and works OK (no crashes).
I wish Reicast's dev would do a proper port for linux but most of them live in Greece...
There's DreamVm but i can't compile it because i have GCC 4.8 on my distro... shit shit shit.
I compiled a Windows build for ya here : https://gameblabla.olympe.in/files/tailtale-win.7zIndiket wrote: I would like to compare it with a Windows version, where can I find the original game?
Yeah, it was an error on my side, i fixed it and reuploaded a new Dreamcast version.- I noticed that you init OGG (libtremor), but there is no music playing at all (forgot to comment it in first version, too).
How does it sounds like ?- Sound is now 22KHz and sounds a bit better, but still nothing fancy :/
The SFXs themselves sounds fine for me, don't tell me it sounds like shit on the Dreamcast ?
I fixed some bugs though related to sound files as well so maybe it will sound fine now.
Thanks for the testing as usual.

Tested on GDemu :

Tout répond bien mais le son crache. Je n'ai testé que le mode EASY.

The game should now work properly. (at least it does on lxdream, i guess it's not that unreliable)

Re: Tail-Tale (Sega Dreamcast)
Hey guys,
i recently got a GDEMU and thought i should start updating some of my older releases as a start.
Here's an updated build of TailTale built against newer libraries and double buffering.
The link was also updated and it was tested against my GDEMU.
