Where can I buy f1 resistors?

Yes, but 10 ohms works well. Is there a place to get 5 ohm resistors? That would help a lot.

10 ohms works. Not everything might work properly though (lots of peripherials, maybe ssome VMU screens might be a bit dimmer). Like I said, I have a DC with a 10 ohm resistor in it to replace the f1 and it works fine. a lot of other people have done the same thing, so there isn't anything to worry about.

Be careful with the cables. You might have to lift one side then the other and so on until you can get the ribbon cable off and the fan connector you have to be especially careful. I suuges using a small flathead screwdriver to help you at the start, that's what I do.

Yes a 10ohms resistor will work in some way, but that's not the proper replacement part.

What's the max load you've tried ?

Mine is 4 controllers with 2 vmus and 2 rumble packs.
Or maybe 2 sets of cha-cha amigo, they seem to drain a lot of power to me.

Maybe because the DC Controller and Controller Board are designed to not allow hot plugging

Hot plugging meaning inserting controllers when the dc is on?

yes, I did this sometimes but never burned f1.
I don't think hot (un)plugging controllers will drain this much current to toast a fuse since it needs some seconds at high load to burn.

What I implied earlier, is that the resistor is not good protection. I didn't say it wouldn't work. As others have said, it won't "blow" to protect your DC like a fuse would.

Yeah, I did. (forgot to post, sorry) I couldn't find my solder, so I had to just twist the resistor. It works fine now, but I 'm ordering a first party controller just in case.

Twisting the f1 resistor until the the two wires cross will work, but it's supposed to be really risky. I had to do it with some tweezers. So far the DC is working well.

Yeah, as soon as I get some solder I'm putting a new resistor in.

I had a DC that was running like that for 2 years, with no problems. Finally died cause for a modding failure.

Aye, I might have been exagerating a bit earlier. Maybe because I'm a bit paranoid about stuff.

OK I am fixing my dc right now and I have a question: does it matter which way you insert the resistor? like is one side negative one side positive?
