Tranfer rate of 115200 baud

Post by Freeze »

If I have a cable which works with 115200 baud, how fast does it trafere data? How long does it take to transere 1 MB for example?

115200 baud is 115200 bits per second (if i'm not mistaken)

since there is 8 bits in a byte..... that's 14400 bytes per second.
since there is 1024 bytes in 1KB ...... that's 14.0625 KB per second.
....and....
since there is 1024 KB in 1 MB ..... it'll take 72.82 seconds load 1 MB.

theoretically, and if my math and terminology is right.

your right, i looked it up in my telecom book (student in electronics), and the baud rate states the amount of modulations per second, or as you put it bps

im not gonna check the math, ill think that is ok
