I'd imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to make one. (assuming you're talking about a little button on the DC case)

Just hook push button switch up to the wires going from the board to the normal power switch. Arrange it so that the current goes through by default when the button switch isn't pushed in, and so that the current doesn't go through when it is pushed in.

You're going to want one of those switches that pop back automatically, not a two state one.

This way, it will stop the power from going through for a second when you push the button in, but it will turn back on when you let go.

Also, make sure you unplug the DC when working with the wires.

The bitmaster had a simple way to do one on his page, but his page doesn't exist anymore.

My try was different. I wanted power to stay flwoing to everything, but just reset the hardware. Like a PSX. You hit reset, and the power LED stays on, but power is cut to just motherboard.

One way to do it would involve cutting up those pins on the PSU, but you could be a bit riskey and find the trace on the mobo, cut it and have the two wires going to a push off switch

Are you joking? If not that is pretty damn cool, I wish I can add a reset button on the DC controller.

Dude. You have one; It's just in five parts.

(I know, you want one... but imagine if you were pulling off the ultimate combo of all time, and then you accidentally hit it! I love the "push these and start" method of Sega systems)

You could just use some diodes and wires and connect all those buttons to one.

There are points on the Dreamcasts mainboard for a reset button, Sega just didn't make use of them.
I have a picture on me HDD I got from someones site.. maybe the bitmaster one mentioned above? .. that shows where they are.. I'll see if I can find it.

All you have to do is put a switch between the positive 12v pin on Psu with the motherboard. This will keep the LED's and fan on, but, eliminate MB until the switch is back down. I recommend a NO (normally open) spring loaded switch. This keeps the current going when buttons NOT pressed, and cuts it when button is pressed. The spring loaded switch would bring the button back up, just like a PSX reset button. This is the same type of switch I used for my nightlight mod. When the lid is down, it presses the switch,a nd turns the lights off inside! :D

Riva, have you tried that? That will just cut off power to the gdrom, that will only work when something is loading off the gdrom.

Hmm? The 12v pin is for the motherboard right, and :? the 5v is for GD ROM, and the 3.3 is for fan and LED, and minor stuff. Right?

3.3V and 5V are for the motherboard and other things, 12V is for the gdrom laser mover and video selection. The dreamcast will run on just 3.3V and 5V, just won't be able to load anything off the gdrom.
