Oh my god, i am a dumb ass! I had my psx 5501's PSU out, and I was about ready to start testing the points for places poeple can solder too and know what the voltages are, when I was pressing on one of the black things for some reason, and the whole solder joints ripped out on both sides of this black thing. I can't just resolder it back on becuase the actualy joints broke out, what can I do!? Is there anyway to save the PSU! It's the only one i have for this console! If anyone has an extra PSU, I'll give you $5 for one. I really need one now, unless its fixable.

Actually, it's got 3 prongs for connecting to the board, and 2 are broken out. It has to be a voltage regulator.

Definately, you need to find a schematic or someone else who has one to get the code of the voltage regulator

Or indeed check the regulator for identification and solder in a replacement

I can't resolder it back on, the solder joint is missing. All thats left is breadboard around the holes. There's nothing for the prongs to connect to!

Scrap the traces a bit and solder to them. You should be good. And don;t kill 5501's my 5501 cries for yours.
