Dreamcast making high pitched buzzing sound all the time now

Yea, so recently my DC started making a high pitched buzzing sound whenever a cd is spun up. 20% of the time a game wont load up the first time I put it in the tray. Any suggestions, experience with this, or whatever?

You sure that it's the DC? When the battery on the VMU dies the VMU buzzes every time the DC is turned on. Not sure about your loading problem though...I'd try a laser cleaner

no, its definitely not the VMU. Its a mechanical thing either with the servo or the laser

This might not help, but if it was me, take the top casing off and then turn the power on, to try to pinpoint the problem. When in doubt, get a can of compressed air and start spraying the innards of the DC.
