problems installing 0.97, help plz...

problems installing 0.97, help plz...

Having followed these instrucions it begins to install, then it instantly comes up with the error message
"please insert disk pike experimental installer, downloaded archive"
well i don't have any disk like that, so what do i do...

Jojo: I don't really have any 98 installations handy. If you check the gtk-setup.inf-file you'll see that "Pike experimental installer, downloaded archive" is just a faked name for the files in that directory. So it would seem the installer is missing some file or that Win98 behaves sufficantly diffrent from later release to break it.

it for some reason cant find the files even though they're there. If I click on "skip file", it will have the same problem with the next one. once I skip all the files, it starts up the program and does that installing thing like it's working. Once thats done I try double clicking on a .pike file. It opens up a dos window then closes it. Nothing happens after that. Think you can help?
